Apples (яблоки, التفاح) are considered one of the most popular and healthy fruits on the planet. Throughout ages apple fruit (the fruit of eve) had been always regarded as a health shield due to its outstanding nutritional profile with the huge amount of antioxidants loaded in it.

Apple fruit gained its popularity worldwide and is widely regarded as one of the healthiest fruits in the world due to its diverse nutritional composition and for this reason it was considered the icon of medieval poets, as poets fell in it’s love and simply couldn’t resist its delicacy, flavor and taste. Moreover, Apple peel contains big amounts of fibers that can help clear out the digestive tract.

Antioxidants are important in fighting atherosclerosis, cancers, infections, they help in strengthening the immune system as well as they contribute to maintaining a healthy cardiovascular system (arterioles and capillaries).

Apples tend to be low in calorie density, which makes them favorites, and for this reason dietitians and healthcare professionals include them in their diets to control many disorders and diseases such as diabetes, crohn’s disease, digestive disorders, etc.

The fiber in apples is of two forms:

  • Soluble (digestible)
  • Insoluble (indigestible)

The soluble fiber helps in regulating the cholesterol level in blood and thus plays an important role in lowering the risk of heart disease, while the insoluble fiber that is digestive resistant to all human enzymes helps clear waste from the intestinal tract by stimulating the secretion of intestinal liquids making the wastes (cala) more tender to poop out, thus reducing the risk of “colon” problems.

In order to get and absorb the maximum nutritional benefit from this healthy and sweet-acidic fruit, eat the apples with the skin (after washing them well), because it’s known that the skin of apple is made of pure insoluble fiber.

Pack apples in pieces of paper from season to season, as it’s known for handling time changes.

Enjoy eating apples every day, include it  in your lunch; you will notice that a mid-morning apple will keep you strong and full until lunchtime, and you won’t be tempted to get fast food or something from the healthy less vending machine.

For a variety of taste, try making apple and walnut salads, or mixing diced apples with halved green-red grapes with some yogurt.
