Sickle Cell Anemia

It is a disorder in RBCs that warps its flexible and round shape. The oxygen carrying RBCs turn into sticky and rigid sickles, this means slicing of cells in crescent moons. Sickle cell anemia is incurable and inherited disease.

The ill-shapen cells stall and snag in the blood stream, which results in perfusion deficit. The symptoms of this disease are fatigue and pain (hypoxia, hunger to oxygen). At a research in Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, a mice suffering from the same disease was injected with a drug derived from vanillin and it reduced the percentage of sickle cells significantly.

Although vanilla was widely used as an aphrodisiac spice by Aztecs, they used it relying on its visual effects, nowadays the very same effects have been proven by science. Essential oil of vanilla provides relief in conditions like loss of libido, frigidity, erectile dysfunction, impotency, etc.

These essential oils act as stimulators for the secretion of estrogen and testosterone, which arouses the normal sexual behavior. It also activates progesterone to regularize menstruation in women.

Anti-depressant

Essential oils of vanilla uplift the mood of a person with its rich and soft aroma. It may be a reason for its popularity as a flavor worldwide.

Sedative

Vanilla’s essential oils are anti-inflammatory and soothening for hyperactivity the in body system. This property is helpful for eliminations of nervousness affecting the digestive, circulatory, and respiratory systems. It acts as a relaxant, which helps in lowering the blood pressure and alleviating insomnia.

Since it has a sedative (calming) effect on the nerves and brain, it reliefs you from restlessness, hypersensitivity, anger, stress, anxiety, convulsions, etc.
