Circulation abnormalities

Vascular pathologies and in particular arteriosclerosis (Hardening of the arteries) is regarded as the most common cause that affects the arteries supplying the pelvis and penis. Other reasons may result from trauma, surgery, or irradiation.

Penile diseases

Organic causes of ED may be related to diseases of the penis such as arteriosclerotic plaque, traumatic injury of the inner blood vessels or Peyronie’s disease, a pathological disorder characterized by fibrous tissue limiting the expandability of the penile tissues, thus preventing venous compression and allowing blood to exit the penis without getting a satisfactory erectile function.
